Mount Evans, Colorado
Mount Evans is about 25 miles west of Denver as the crow flies. The paved road to the
14,240 ft. Summit is the highest paved road in the World. It is quite common to see
Mountain Sheep and Mountain Goats along the route to the top.  At the top near the
parking lot, there is an Observatory.   Along the route is Summit Lake at 13,001 ft.  The
background cliffs of Summit Lake are visible from Denver. Just below tree line is the Mount
Goliath Natural Area.  Here you will find Bristlecone Pines. Some of these ancient trees are
over 1600 years old. This is one of my favorite places to photograph and explore.
